How does sales tax work for Canada?

Updated this week

As a Distribution Platform Operator, Vetster is responsible for the collection and remittance of applicable sales taxes on transactions with Canadian customers made through the platform. This means Vetster calculates, collects, and remits the appropriate sales tax directly to the relevant tax authorities. Because Vetster manages sales tax at the platform level, you are generally not required to charge sales tax on the appointment fees you receive from Vetster.

However, if you are registered for sales tax and exceed the small supplier threshold, you may be required to charge tax on the services you provide to Vetster. If you believe this applies to you, please contact us at [email protected] for further guidance.
