How do I set/update my availability?

Keeping your availability up to date is one of the keys to success on the Vetster platform! Not having your availability updated can lead to missed or canceled appointments and a poor user experience for both you and your clients.

Additionally, keeping your availability updated can improve your visibility in Vetster search results, making it easier for clients to find and book appointments with you.

Improving Visibility in Search Results

Vetster search rankings are influenced by several factors beyond immediate availability. To improve your visibility:

  1. Complete Your Profile:

    • Add a clear, professional photo.

    • Write a detailed "About Me" section.

    • Specify the species and services you offer.

  2. Confirm Appointments Promptly:

    • Respond quickly to booking requests to strengthen your ranking signals.

  3. Enable Notifications:

    • Turn on mobile notifications to avoid missing booking alerts.

  4. Optimize Your Availability:

    • Ensure your base availability and synced calendars are aligned to avoid hidden conflicts.

  5. Promote Your Profile:

    • Use Vetster’s self-promotion tools, such as downloading the marketing e-book, adding your Vetster email signature, and sharing your profile on social media.


To ensure you're optimizing your availability, navigate to the Availability page in your account and follow the steps below:

Syncing your external calendar with Vetster ensures that any events marked as busy will automatically block your availability, saving you time.

  1. Select Appointment settings to set your default minimum booking notice.

  2. Select Availability to set your default hours of availability. You can also add multiple blocks of time for each day of the week. Update this as often as needed!

  3. Block off periods of unavailability that fall within your default available hours. Select Calendar to add blocks of time where you are unavailable. Clients will not be able to book appointments with you during these periods. You can also import external calendars (such as Gmail, Outlook etc.) on Vetster.

  4. When last-minute conflicts come up, it is quick and easy to pause your availability. From either the mobile app or on your desktop, click Pause appointment availability to temporarily hide your profile and pause appointment booking. In less than a minute, you can pause your availability for an hour, a day, a week, or until a specified date.

    Please note this only affects new bookings. Any appointments already scheduled during this period will not be canceled.

  1. If appointments still appear in your Upcoming list after marking yourself unavailable, check your availability settings. Ensure that the days and times you want to block are correctly marked as unavailable. This will prevent new appointments from being booked during those periods.

  2. To improve your visibility in Vetster search results, complete your profile with a professional photo, detailed "About Me" section, and specify the species and services you offer. Respond promptly to booking requests, enable notifications, and align your base availability with synced calendars to avoid conflicts.
